One of the funnest stores to visit on the northwest side of Michigan! The store is located on the north side of McBain, Michigan. McBain is located just east of Cadillac and just down the road from beautiful Lake City. If planning a trip to Cadillac, make a tri-pod stop-Cadillac, McBain, and Lake City. McBain is a logging and farming town that is truly a quaint, down-home experience. It's the perfect location for a day trip. Driving to McBain is half the fun. Beautiful rolling hills and roads that disappear into valleys.
The number one place to stop in McBain is Pineview Discount Groceries. I lovingly call it the "Amish Store." Basically, it is run by an Amish family and have a variety of marked-down, discontinued items.
The deals you can find are incredible. They have some Amish cheeses from Ohio that are reasonably priced with a Swiss cheese that is high quality. I find many different hot sauces, salsas, and BBQ sauces for pennies on the dollar. Propel energy drinks were .45 cents when I was there and a 64oz Gatorade was $1. They are constantly stocking new items. The 1lb bags of Switzer apple licorice were 2 for $1. I should have bought more than 2 bags!
Your kids will love this store! One little aisle has deals on candy. "Stride 5" gum was 3 for $1. bags of Willy Wonka were only $1.50. I walked out with a full box of goods and I didn't spend over $20. For this much fun and special treats, its well worth the trip to stop through this country town. When you get to McBain, stop at one of the two gas stations on the corner in "down-town." You can get some easy directions.

ReplyDeleteIt is on the corner of Geers Road and Burkett Rd. West Stoney Corners Rd (66) turns into Burkett briefly. It's about a mile north of 66.
ReplyDeleteAs for the time, I believe they are open until 4pm or so.

I recently moved into the area a few months ago and stumbled upon this store. It quickly became my favorite place to shop, I usually go once a week. I love the cheeses, which are very reasonably priced. The deals are incredible, the staff is very friendly. Pineview is my favorite place to shop by far.
